Amy Huson, owner, manager & designer of Future Street Farm is dedicated to the love of the sport and horses.
Amy trains, teaches, and rides. She specializes in starting and training young horses. She is also a competitive show jumping and dressage rider. She has been showing at "A" rated horse shows for more than 15 years. She has shown hunters and equitation, but has a real passion for the jumpers and the sport of show jumping. She has much experience riding and training all over the world including Canada, Europe, Argentina and the USA. Amy currently works exclusively with coach Jeff Cook and has for the past three years. Previously Amy worked with trainers Steve Newell, Gary Henley, Buddy Brown, Jim Dalquist, and Frank Selinger. Amy has spent many years studying jumping and dressage in Europe as a young woman and lived and worked in England, France, Spain, and Switzerland. She is highly aware of the sport of show jumping and dressage on an international level. She has shown numerous times at Spruce Meadows in Canada, the number one show jumping venue in the world. She has been a spectator many times at the World Cup and the European Championships. She was a reporter at the World Equestrian Games 2010 in Kentucky. She has a true passion for the sport. This international experience helped in her design of Future Street Farm. Having previously designed and built the location in Sherwood, Oregon in 1999, Amy was well aware of problems in design and construction of a facility. Future Street Farm was designed to be workable, safe, and comfortable for horse and rider. The well-being of the horses was of prime concern, therefore details like ample turn-out for each horse, fire safety precautions, and appropriate footing in all riding areas was taken into consideration. Amy also enjoys dressage and included this discipline in her vision for the farm. Future Street Farm offers Dressage training and lessons. She currently competes in rated dressage shows and is an active member of the USDF and ODS. She believes dressage is elemental in developing supple, responsive jumpers, and is good for helping to increase the connection that jumper riders need with their horses. She has participated in many dressage clinics including Gerd Reuter, Gerhard Politz, Michael Etherly, Jeremy Steinberg and in Germany with Jurgen Armbrust. She regularly lessons with Brooke Voldbaek, Dieter Riedinger and Kim Barker. She worked for many years with resident trainer Hania Price before she moved back to Switzerland. We miss her!
